How to do an
Indian Creek Poo!
“If we can pack out our own waste,
then we can keep the camping free and primitive.”
Camping in a Designated Campsite? Use the pit toilets provided and pay your camping fees. It is hard to believe, but camping fees help, but do not entirely cover, the cost of pumping out toilets in Moab and Indian Creek. Please consider donating to FOIC so that we may pump toilets in times of government shutdowns and pandemics!
Camping in a Dispersed Campsite? Bring a dump-able river style toilet as a first choice. Carry W.A.G. bags as a second choice and dispose of them properly in either Trash receptacles or designated locations(Moab). DO NOT BURY HUMAN WASTE. There is no garbage service in Indian Creek, so have a poo plan for transporting your W.A.G. bags!
At the Crag? Carry W.A.G. bag type systems for when you cannot make it to a bathroom in time.
Dog/Pet Poo? Pack out all dog waste at the crag/campsites/dispersed campsites/trails/etc.- BYOB (Bring your own Bag)! Dispose of it in any trash receptacle. There is no garbage service in Indian Creek, so have a plan! If you are unprepared or unable to pack out pet waste, bury pet waste 6-8 inches as a very last resort
To do your part and help keep desert climbing wild and primitive, join the Friends of Indian Creek or make a donation.
